Energy healing sounds mysterious until you have felt it. A warmth spreading across your shoulders. A breath that finally reaches the bottom of your lungs. A mind that, for the first time all week, goes quiet. That is not magic — it is your nervous system remembering how to rest.

At its simplest, energy healing is the practice of restoring flow. Stress, grief, old injuries and unspoken feelings create stagnation in the body, and stagnation speaks: as tension, fatigue, brain fog and restlessness. A practitioner trained in Reiki and related arts senses those stuck places and helps them move again, using light touch or hands held just above the body.

What happens in a session

You remain fully clothed, lying back under a blanket while the practitioner works through a sequence of hand positions. Most people drift into a state between waking and sleep. There is nothing to do, nothing to believe, and nothing to get right.

Three ways to begin at home

  • Morning grounding: stand barefoot for two minutes, breathe into your feet, and notice the weight of your body.
  • Evening hand rest: place both hands over your heart for five slow breaths before sleep.
  • Weekly stillness: one guided meditation a week keeps the channels clearer between sessions.

Energy healing does not replace medicine, therapy or common sense. It sits beside them beautifully — and for many of my clients, it is the missing piece that finally makes everything else work.
